Plate Math LLC, a Texas limited liability company, is the controller of the personal information described here.
Plate Math LLC
1200 E New York Ave, Midland, TX 79701
Email: [email protected]
This policy covers app.getplatemath.com, www.getplatemath.com, and our related communications (the "Service"). It does not cover any third-party site we link to.
| What | Examples | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Account | Your email address | To create your account, sign you in by magic link, and contact you about the Service |
| Business content | Ingredient names, purchase prices and quantities, units, yields, recipes, prep batches, menu items and prices, packaging, waste allowances, target food-cost %, labor and gas per day, commissary and permit costs, spoiled stock, days open, items sold, event names, dates, fees, hours, and sales, truck names, combos, sales plans | To run the calculator and save your work |
| Support | Anything you type into the AI help assistant or email us, plus the calculator snapshot described in Section 5 | To answer your question and to follow up if a person needs to |
| Payment | Name, billing address, and the last four digits and expiry of your card, plus your purchase history | To bill you. We never receive or store your full card number — Stripe does |
| Preferences | Language, currency, measurement units, light/dark theme, dashboard layout, plan | To keep the app set up the way you like it |
We do not ask for and do not want: your Social Security or taxpayer ID number, your bank account credentials, your customers' personal information, health information, biometric data, precise geolocation, or government ID numbers. Please do not put any of these into the Service or the help assistant.
We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. The Service is a business tool and is not directed to children. If you believe a minor has given us information, email [email protected] and we will delete it.
We use your information to:
Legal bases (if you are in a jurisdiction that requires them): performance of our contract with you (1–4), our legitimate interests in running a secure and improving service (5, 6, 9), your consent (7, and any optional feature we ask you to opt into), and legal obligation (8).
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We do not share your business content with other vendors.
We share only with service providers who need it to run Plate Math, under contracts that limit them to our instructions:
| Provider | What it does | What it can see |
|---|---|---|
| Vercel Inc. | Hosting and content delivery | Technical data and traffic; whatever passes through a request |
| Supabase, Inc. | Database, authentication, storage | Your email address and your saved business content |
| Stripe, Inc. | Payments | Your name, email, billing address, card details, and purchase history. Stripe is an independent controller of payment data under its own privacy policy |
| Anthropic, PBC | The AI help assistant | Your help-chat messages and the calculator snapshot described in Section 5 |
| GoHighLevel | Sign-in emails, marketing email, and SMS | Your email address, phone number, and message engagement |
We may also disclose information:
This is the part people most want to understand, so here it is in detail.
When you send a message to the in-app help assistant, we send to Anthropic:
What is NOT sent: your email address, your name, your account ID, your payment details, your IP address, or your saved items' internal identifiers.
Why we send it: so the assistant can answer about your numbers — "why is my suggested price $14?" — instead of describing the feature in the abstract.
How it is handled: under our commercial agreement with Anthropic, your inputs and the assistant's outputs are not used to train Anthropic's models. Anthropic may retain them for a limited period for trust-and-safety purposes. See Anthropic's privacy policy at <https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy>.
If you would rather not use it, don't. The rest of the Service works normally without the assistant. Do not type payment card numbers, passwords, government ID numbers, health information, or anyone else's personal information into it.
If the assistant escalates to a human, we store the conversation, the calculator snapshot, the reason it escalated, and a reply-to address in our support-ticket database, so a person can pick it up. Those tickets are readable only by us — see Section 9.
| Data | Retention |
|---|---|
| Account and business content | While your account is active, then 30 days after you close it, then deleted or de-identified |
| Backups | Rolling backups may retain data for up to 30 additional days after deletion, after which they expire |
| Support tickets and chat transcripts | 24 months from the date the ticket is closed |
| Payment and transaction records | As long as required by tax and accounting law, generally 7 years |
| Technical logs | 90 days |
| Marketing and SMS consent records | For as long as you are subscribed, plus 4 years after you opt out, to prove we had consent |
| Aggregated, de-identified statistics | Indefinitely — they are no longer personal information |
We may keep information longer where we must to comply with law, resolve a dispute, or enforce our agreements.
Service messages. We will always send you messages necessary to run your account — magic-link sign-ins, receipts, renewal and payment notices, security alerts, and material changes to our terms. You cannot opt out of these while you have an account, because they are part of the Service.
Marketing email. We send marketing only where permitted, and every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link that works. Unsubscribing takes effect promptly and does not affect service messages.
Text messages. If you opt in, our SMS program is governed by the separate SMS Terms. Consent to marketing texts is never a condition of buying anything. Reply STOP to any message to opt out and HELP for help. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply.
Your mobile number. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. We do not sell your mobile number and we do not give it to lead generators. All other categories of personal information are handled as described in Section 4. Information sharing with the subcontractors who support our text message program — our messaging provider, for example — is limited to what is needed to deliver the messages, and those parties may not use it for their own marketing.
Text message opt-in data is never shared or sold to anyone. This applies whether or not you have an account, and it applies after you opt out. We keep a record of your consent and any opt-out only for as long as the law requires us to be able to prove it.
We use only what we need:
platemath..We do not use advertising cookies, third-party tracking pixels, or cross-site trackers. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.
You can clear cookies and local storage in your browser settings. If you do so while signed out, any business content saved on that device is permanently lost.
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit (HTTPS), encryption at rest through our database provider, passwordless sign-in (so there is no password to leak), row-level security so your rows are readable only by you, and least-privilege access on our side.
Support tickets are stored with row-level security enabled and no public access policies at all — no browser client, signed in or not, can read them. Only our server and our own administrators can.
No system is perfectly secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security, and you share information at your own risk. Your email inbox is the key to your account — protect it, and turn on two-factor authentication with your email provider.
If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any regulator as required by law, without undue delay.
Whoever and wherever you are, you can:
If you are in Texas (Texas Data Privacy and Security Act), California (CCPA/CPRA), or another U.S. state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have rights to know, access, correct, delete, obtain a portable copy, and appeal a denial, and to opt out of sale, targeted advertising, and certain profiling. We do not sell personal information, do not share it for targeted advertising, and do not engage in profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects, so those opt-outs do not apply to anything we do. We honor the rest.
If you are in the EU, UK, or another GDPR jurisdiction, you also have the right to object to or restrict processing, to withdraw consent at any time, and to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority. Plate Math operates in the United States, and using the Service means your information is transferred to and processed in the U.S. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another lawful transfer mechanism with our providers.
How to exercise a right. Email [email protected] from the address on your account. We will respond within 45 days (extendable once where the law allows). We will never charge you or treat you differently for exercising a right. An authorized agent may act for you with written proof; we may still ask you to verify directly.
We may update this policy. If a change is material, we will notify you by email or in the Service at least 30 days before it takes effect, and we will update the version and date at the top. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated policy.
